Dennis Smedley is a lifelong Alaskan born in Ketchikan and has lived throughout Alaska. He has lived in Kodiak, Juneau, Anchorage, and Fairbanks and currently resides in Wasilla with his wife, Molly. They have four adult children. Molly’s family’s history goes back to operating a Gold Mine in Hatcher Pass in the early 1900s, and she grew up on the homestead dairy farm in Wasilla. Before Dennis’ construction career, he commercial fished out of Kodiak, owning a salmon seine vessel. Dennis graduated with political science and literature degrees from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. During his off time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their four adult children. He takes his dog on long walks in the mountains. He likes to BBQ (especially in winter) and generally enjoys cooking. He likes fishing, hunting, berry picking, and cutting down trees for firewood as their primary heat source.
Dennis brings 24 years of Alaska commercial construction experience to the H. Watt team. He is well-versed in commercial construction as a laborer, carpenter, foreman, superintendent, and project manager. He has completed projects ranging from $20,000.00 to $5,000,000.00. Dennis completes jobs safely, on time, and budget. He is also a certified safety professional. Dennis has completed projects in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Denali Park, Kenai, Soldotna, Homer, Kodiak, Bethel, Juneau, Ketchikan, Palmer, and Wasilla.
Dennis enjoys working with clients and helping make their visions a reality. In construction, there are challenges, changes, and details. Dennis faces these challenges head-on and communicates understanding and options with owners. Dennis is a team player and has worked with many subcontractors going on 20+ years.
